  • What is the best British Airways voucher code?

You will find a number of promo codes running throughout the year which could give you up to 10% off British Airways flights. Make sure to read the terms and conditions to discover the best deal for you. The discount may include taxes, fees and carrier charges, so the savings can be big on international flights. Plus, you can collect airline mileage (Avios) points!

Is there a British Airways sale?

They do often have sales at different times of the year, so, to get the cheapest prices, be sure to check our Telegraph vouchers page before booking.

Does British Airways offer an NHS discount?

While there is an NHS discount for NHS members and military for the British Airways i360 viewing tower, we cannot currently find any official discounts for flights or holidays. We’ll update this page as soon as one is available.

How do I cancel my flight, and will I get a refund?

British Airways has revamped its process to emphasise Booking with Confidence. One feature is flexible bookings. Visit the British Airways website and click on ‘manage my booking’ to amend your flight dates or cancel your flight. When you cancel your flight, you will receive a refund in the form of a voucher that can be used when you’re ready to fly again. Cash refunds are only offered when British Airways cancels a flight.

How early can I check-in for my British Airways flight?

You can check in for British Airways flights 24 hours before departure. Trying to check in before 24 hours is the most common reason why online check-in is not working. Don’t worry if you cannot check-in online, you will be able to do so at the airport provided it’s more than an hour before your departure time.

What is British Airways Premium Economy?

The main difference between Economy and Premium Economy flights with British Airways is the room. Premium Economy offers slightly wider seats, 7 inches more leg room and a further recline. You will also get a more generous baggage allowance and priority boarding. Not forgetting the all-important in-flight entertainment screen in front.

Prices vary depending on the flight and destination, but if any of these bonus details are important to you when flying, it may be worth upgrading.

    British Airways Baggage Policy

Knowing what baggage is included with your flight and what’s extra can be a minefield. With British Airways, you can find out what’s included with your flight ticket by using their handy Baggage Allowance Checker. Simply submit your flight information and you’ll see an overview of checked baggage and hand baggage weights and dimensions, as well as the option to add more luggage to your booking. For a brief overview of British Airways’ current baggage allowances, see the below.

    Hand luggage

All flights allow passengers to bring the following hand luggage on board the flight.

    1 cabin bag
    Max. 23kg (51 lbs)
    Up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm

    AND

    1 handbag/laptop bag (Max. 23kg)
    Up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm

    Checked baggage allowance

If you have checked baggage added or included in your flight, you must ensure each checked bag is no heavier than 23kg (51lbs), with dimensions up to 90 x 75 x 43cm.

    Extra baggage

If you are travelling Economy without checked baggage, you will want to add this to your booking prior to getting to the airport. Adding extra luggage online usually costs between £30-£60 depending on your destination or airport, whereas paying for it when you arrive at check-in will cost upwards of £75.

If you have a World Traveller Plus or Club Europe ticket, you will automatically get two checked bags included in your flight. Club World and First Class travellers can get three bags weighing up to 32kg.

Always check your booking details prior to packing, as these details may change.

    Infant baggage allowance

Parents travelling with babies or toddlers under 2 years of age are allowed to check in two of the following items free of charge:

    • Collapsible pushchair
    • Infant car seat or booster seat
    • Travel cot
    • Baby carrier

You can also bring one extra hand luggage bag for your baby on board the flight, so you can easily access essential items.

Children aged between 2 and 11 years have the same hand luggage allowance as adults.

    Lost baggage

For British Airways baggage queries, including lost luggage, you can contact the Baggage Tracking team on 0344 493 0785. Most missing baggage is returned within 72 hours of the flight landing and in this case, you should receive an email or text message with your missing item tracking number.

To make a lost baggage claim, visit the British Airways website where you can complete a simple form. Missing bags must be reported within 21 days, and damaged baggage reported within 7 days.
